Cowl Neck Tunic

This beautiful Cowl Neck tunic/blouse is designed so you can have a bit of fun with the Cowl Neck itself. The Cowl portion of the pattern is separate and is cut on the bias for a soft drape, while the body portion of the pattern is cut on the straight-grain for stability. This pattern is close-fitting (like a Basic Shell) so you can shorten and wear under a jacket (with sleeves from our Basic Shell pattern). The flowing flute-style sleeves are just above the elbow. The Cowl portion is beautiful when cut from a 24” (or larger) scarf. This pattern does have a bust dart and pattern alteration guidelines are included.

This great collection of Basic Shells is a fundamental in any pattern collection. The collection includes 3 different necklines with Round, Square and V-Neck versions. Additionally the armhole has been designed to allow for a sleeveless version along with a short or long sleeve option. The keyhole back uses a center back seam - it’s easy to stitch and will not tear at the point. Detailed pattern alteration guidelines are also included to help make your pattern fit YOU and to guarantee that you will use your Basic Shell pattern for many years to come.
