Sewing Patterns

Several of the patterns in the Tops & Tunics Category are designed on a Basic Shell/Basic Dress Design Block. Watch for patterns marked as a Dress Club Pattern. These patterns are designed so you can Mix & Match the patterns. The sleeve from any dress or top with the Dress Club Symbol on the pattern will interchange with any other pattern with the Dress Club Symbol.

Wisteria Sleeveless Shell Sewing Pattern

Casual Fit or Tailored Fit

This is a ‘true’ sleeveless shell. The underarm area is 1/2” higher and the gap at the front armhole has been removed. Additionally the neckline has been lowered (and the gap adjusted) and the outer shoulder area has been brought in slightly. The really important aspect is that nothing will show that you don’t want showing! The shoulder area is wide enough to hide a bra strap and the underarm area will not play peek-a-boo! There is a bust-dart so you can easily adjust the fit and the vertical darts are used for the tailored version (which has a side zipper) but omitted for the pullover version. The neck and armhole facings have been combined for a smooth fit across the upper bodice. Three optional ruffles can be mixed & matched for a variety of fun neckline effects. The butterfly sleeves are optional, and while they are not really sleeves (the underarm is open) they do cover the upper arm area nicely. A fundamental pattern that will be a good addition to your pattern collection.

Ebisu Tunic
Sewing Pattern

Fast, Fun and Fabulous -- and a great addition to your pattern collection. This tunic will be its best in a soft fabric with flow and drape. The cover models are made from Rayon Batiks, but this would be beautiful in silks or blends. The fluid movement of the design lines is flattering to all figure shapes and the dolman sleeves minimize fitting challenges.
Ebisu was the Japanese God of the Sea and Good Luck for Fishermen.

Cowl Neck Tunic
Sewing Pattern

This beautiful Cowl Neck tunic/blouse is designed so you can have a bit of fun with the Cowl Neck itself. The Cowl portion of the pattern is separate and is cut on the bias for a soft drape, while the body portion of the pattern is cut on the straight-grain for stability. This pattern is close-fitting (like a Basic Shell) so you can shorten and wear under a jacket (with sleeves from our Basic Shell pattern). The flowing flute-style sleeves are just above the elbow. The Cowl portion is beautiful when cut from a 24” (or larger) scarf. This pattern does have a bust dart and pattern alteration guidelines are included.

Basic Shells Sewing Pattern
