Below information relates to Simon Jacob Riesinger, b1863 Bavaria, Germany - immigrated in 1883 - married Matilda Loring (B.C. Canada) in 1907. This is my direct family - more is available upon request - this is posted as an assist to other researchers.

• Any information on the Riesinger family while in Snohomish, Washington. I do think that Simon Jacob Riesinger had a reason for going to Snohomish, what was that reason?

Immigration for a Simon Reisinger - Recent Addition

Both the 1900 Census and the 1920 Census for Simon indicate that he immigrated in 1883 - based on that I have located the manifest for a Simon Riesinger who departed Rotterdam, on the S.S.Rotterdam and arrived in New York on March 27, 1883. Note that this date of arrival was before Ellis Island opened and is in the Castle Garden Years on immigration. Simon was 19 when he arrived - so birth year was 1864. All US documents say that Simon was born in 1864, but family information indicates Feb 8, 1863.
